According to a letter written in the Golf Monthly August 2010 Edition Bob Holmes of Eyemouth Golf Club membership can be increased by ''Opening The Doors'' of the Golf club he went on to say ''Eyemouth Golf Club a Scotland Golf Course decided to increase membership by holding an Open day on May 8 2010.

We organised a program for the day to include all categories of the golfer including those that had never played before.The programme was about getting information out into the public domain through as many media as were open to us and included practical aspects of playing the game:tuition;coaching on putting and chipping as well as playing the course itself.The day was supported by a large team of members and staff.The greenkeepers had the course looking stunning and were blessed with good weather on the day! To cut a long story short, 60 new members were recruited.These people had a wide range of previous experience and included adults,seniors,juniors and families.To say the club was delighted was an understatement.We have begun planning for next year and are holding a social evening for new members t the end of this month.'' "(as reported in Golf Monthly August 2010)"
